| Inquisitor Malagrius, Ordo Malleus As a member of the Ordo Malleus, Malagrius blazed a trail across the Imperium, destroying cults of Chaos worshippers, seizing heretic artefacts and bringing the Emperor’s light to those in darkness. He strove tirelessly to equal the exploits of his father Inquisitor Malakus, the foremost member of the Ordo of his generation. On the world of Arbracht, he destroyed the Cult of Kraskell and this endeavour lead to his first encounter with Tanrik Dar, a Rogue Trader of infamous repute. It was Dar who gave Malagrius the location of the Cult’s Shrines to Tzeentch. From this shrine he recovered the Sorvan Scrolls, mighty volumes describing daemons and such like in minute detail. He was able to read these tomes, and, maintaining his immunity from their chaotic influence expanded his burgeoning psychic abilities. It was passages relating to daemonhosts, rituals and summoning that firmly entrenched Malagrius’ Xanthite beliefs. He believed completely in his ability to withstand the power of the Warp, harnessing it to Mankind’s benefit. After this he began actively searching for daemon related works, seizing them from sects and cults he suppressed. When he learned of Malakus’ disappearance, he contacted Dar to find out what the Rogue Trader had heard on his extensive travels. Calling in a debt owed him by the Cardinal of Franzworld, he was able to requisition the services of an Arco-flagellant. Malagrius, Dar and the former heretic now known as Garet 1121, travelled to the Renwick Station in the Vashik Expanse, which was according to Dar the location of a daemonic entity with knowledge of Malakus’ plight. Malagrius was able to utilise his knowledge from the Sorvan Scrolls to raise the daemonhost Arkhhan. Malagrius was able to glean some information from the recesses of the daemon’s knowledge, but his abilities were not developed enough to break down the layers of psychic shielding surrounding Arkhhan’s mind. Convinced the daemon knew more of the Inquisitor, Malagrius decided to take the abomination with him, much to Dar’ s displeasure. Thus the rag-tag group headed for Rakvan Prime, unaware that his brother Divinius was on his trail, intent not only to locate his father, but also to put an end to Malagrius’ heretic and blasphemous ways… Garet 1121, Arco-Flagellant, ex-Franzworld The Arco-flagellant known as Garet 1121 began life on Franzworld in the gutter, and by the time of his punishment, had not come close to leaving it. Petty crimes as a youth lead him to fall in with one of the many gangs that scour the hive capital of Kristes. As part of the Flogratt Boys, Garet terrorised the local merchants, unaware his gang family had a far more sinister purpose. When the Inquisition raided the gang hideouts, Garet was able to see the true nature of his ganger brethren. Daemon worship had seized them all, save a few fresh acolytes such as Garet. While those already exposed to the power of the warp suffered the heretic’s fate, a few younger members were sentenced to Arco-flagellation. Garet 1121 was requisitioned by Inquisitor Malagrius, exerting his considerable influence over Cardinal Damroll, recalling the time his father had saved the then Preacher Damroll from a Chaos incursion. Thus he was able to acquire another tool for his work. The being formerly known as Garet was brought into Malagrius’ quest to discover the fate of his father… Tanrik Dar, of Lajenda Pass, Rogue Trader Bio to follow... Arkhhan the Desecrator, Daemonhost Bio to follow... Inquisitor Divinius, Ordo Malleus Divinius was born to be an inquisitor. His father Malakus the Strong was at the forefront of the psyker and daemon purges of the early 41st Millennium, spearheading Ordo Malleus operations Imperium wide. His eldest son Malagrius wasted no time in following his father’s footsteps, although Malakus’ oldest friend, Preacher Zacharia, warned him of dangerous omens that could lead his son on the road to damnation. Despite such warnings, his strong will, expertise in combat and burgeoning psychic talent sped him on his way to becoming an inquisitor. Meanwhile, while young Divinius was forced to watch as his father and brother left for the far-reaches of the Imperium, he was left in the care of Zacharia and the immense librarium at his shrine on Danmaal VI. He continued his spirited quest for knowledge, and although his psychic abilities were not close to matching that of his brother’s, he too longed for the chance to take up his family’s holy crusade against the enemy within. The day after his induction into the Ordo Malleus, the youngest member for a century, news of his father reached him. Malakus had been investigating reports of cultist activity on Rakvan Prime, close to the Eye of Terror, when all trace of him had been lost. Zacharia had not heard from him in several months, and it was he who informed Divinius. Divinius vowed to find his father, alive or dead, and to discover the rumours of daemonic possession and chaos worship surrounding his disappearance. Zacharia, keen to protect his friend’s son and also wanting to know what had happened to his friend accompanied him. They were joined by Brother-Captain Jaegan, a Blood Angel, formerly a member of the Deathwatch, and a old comrade of Malakus’. The three of them set out, unaware of Malagrius’ similar course, although with a different set of travelling companions. When news reached Divinius of his brother’s dealings with a daemon named Arkhhan, he started to believe Zacharia’s warnings from long ago. He would try to discover the truth behind his brother’s actions, as well as those of his father, but if the Imperium was threatened he was resolved to sacrifice them if necessary.
