The rules for the Pan-American One-Yen Poker Championship (PAOYEPOC) were initially formulated in 2004. They are based on the highly successful poker games run by the Wells Blue Casino in 1999-2000.
BASIC RULES
- Only 1 yen and 5 yen coins allowed*
- Mascots to be on display at all times, those without mascots to be badly punished.
*Plus dodgy foreign coins, e.g. 1p, 1 yuan, etc.
HAND RANKINGS
- Straight Flush (5 in a row, same suit) *
- Four of a Kind
- Full House (3&2)
- Flush (5 of one suit)
- Straight (5 in a row, different suits)
- Three of a kind
- Two Pairs
- Pair
- High Card
- Gerbil
* With two decks and wild cards, 5 of a kind is possible, and comes after a Straight Flush
FORM OF POKER
- Patented 'Five Card Draw - Three Change' rules pioneered by Wells Blue Casino, 1999
- Wild Cards - dealer's discretion, generally jokers or twos
BETTING
- each round, one yen to play
- maximum bets - as high as the sky and as deep as your pockets, until some one calls
- "The Nerys" (raise one and call)
